FCA published final IDD rules

- Insurance and reinsurance
06-06-2018
The Insurance Distribution (Regulated Activities and Miscellaneous Amendments) Order 2018 has come into force, meaning that the FCA has now made its final rules in relation to the Insurance Distribution Directive.
There are no substantive changes to the near-final rules that were published in PS 18/1 in January – there are, however, some minor changes (for example, to correct typos). These are set out in Handbook Notice No. 55 (May 2018).
The FCA has also created a web page which contains all its IDD materials. This can be found at www.fca.org.uk/firms/insurance-distribution-directive, and it includes links to the primary and secondary legislation, EIOPA guidelines and key FCA publications.
Firms should be reminded that they must be ready for compliance by 1 October 2018. For guidance or assistance with this, please contact
