THE CERTAINTY OF CHANGE
MERGERS & ACQUISITIONS IN A PANDEMIC
Right now M&A activity has been significantly decreased, and the projected numbers for foreign direct investment and Gross Domestic Product in many countries are concerning. However, we must remember that we have been through many crises over the years, though this is the first one that directly relates to a disease - at least since 1918.
It is therefore likely to have more of a global effect than some of the other ‘financial crises’. At this moment it seems unlikely that there will be much M&A, but what previous crises have shown us is that life will return (maybe in this case more gradually) to the norm, even if this norm involves more remote working than ever before.
Read Robin Johnson's white paper including how buyers and sellers should be preparing themselves now for M&A for when the coronavirus pandemic is over.
