Eversheds Sutherland assisted the Cherkizovo Group with debt acquisition to the tune of USD 100m

    The Cherkizovo Group acquires debt from one of Russia’s leading poultry producers

    We were able to offer a combination of our transactional expertise and sector-specific expertise to provide full legal support to the Cherkizovo Group in relation to debt acquisition worth approximately USD 100m from the «Belaya Ptica» Group, which is one of the leading poultry producer in Russia. According to statistics from 2017, «Belaya Ptica-Kursk» has a 5% share of the Russian poultry market. This acquisition will enable Cherkizovo to offer its high quality poultry products to a greater number of customers and strengthen its leading position on the Russian poultry market.

    Our involvement in this project included performing a legal due diligence review in relation to credit facility documentation and pledged assets, drafting pre-contractual documentation, reviewing and amending the transaction’s main agreements concluded with the bank that previously owned the debt, providing legal support during all stages of extensive negotiations, as well as executing and implementing the main agreements.
