Eversheds Sutherland's global integration continues, founders' names to be dropped from company name

Czech-Slovak law firm Eversheds Sutherland Dvořák Hager continues the process of integrating with a strong global brand and, after a six-month transition period, is dropping the names of its founders, Stanislav Dvořák and Bernard Hager, from the company name. From 1 September 2019 it will thus officially use the name Eversheds Sutherland.

"By changing the name, we are indicating the international direction of the firm and its position as one of the most important law firms in the world. The transformation from a local firm into an international one comes with changes in management and the team of partners. It is a long-term process and is about more than whether our names should be above the door," said Stanislav Dvořák, managing partner of the Prague office.

"Eversheds Sutherland's reputation on the global market has always been tied to high professional and quality standards, with an emphasis on teamwork. Respect for these values is at the foundation of our approach to working with clients. The personnel changes are therefore a natural outcome of the shift in the firm's strategic direction," said Bernhard Hager, the managing partner of the Bratislava office.

In this context, current partners Veronika Odrobinová and Lukáš Zahrádka will be leaving the office on the same date.
