Eversheds Sutherland welcomes Partner Simon Lightman to its Technology practice
Eversheds Sutherland has bolstered its commercial practice with lateral Partner hire, Simon Lightman.
Simon, who joins the global legal practice’s London-based commercial team from law firm Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, will be working closely with Eversheds Sutherland’s head of technology group, Partner Simon Gamlin.
Lightman has long-standing experience in a wide range of commercial, technology and data transactions. His specialisms include the restructuring and renegotiation of legacy outsourcing arrangements and advises on complex outsourcing deals and procurements, software licensing, cloud and other “as a service” technology and technology enabled arrangements.
Simon also brings with him a deep experience of advising clients on contracting for new and disruptive technologies including robotic process automation and artificial intelligence. He has acted for a diverse range of clients, with a focus on customers and suppliers in the financial services sector, along with retail, telecommunications, FMCG and aviation businesses, and a number of digital consumer service providers.
Simon Gamlin commented:
“We’re delighted to welcome Simon who brings an immense amount of knowledge to our growing global technology team - he is well respected by both our clients and our wider contacts in the industry. His experience, acting for both suppliers and customers on cutting edge technology transactions will be of significant value to the firm, and I have no doubt he will contribute to the continued success of our Technology team in the UK and globally.”
Simon Lightman commented:
“I am thrilled to be joining such a broad bench of experienced technology partners and looking forward to working closely with the recent hires in Asia, France and the Netherlands. Eversheds Sutherland will provide me with a great platform to grow my relationship further with clients and other businesses that I have worked with for many years. It is an exciting time to be joining the firm, which has technology so deeply embedded in its growth strategy.”
