Eversheds comment: International tax reporting needs uniform application across different countries

    Following the announcement of a major consultation on the future of international tax reporting by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Ben Jones, international tax expert at global law firm Eversheds, comments:

    “As the OECD and the G20 continue their programme of increasing international tax transparency and reporting, a key issue for businesses will be the potential cost and administrative burden of complying with the increased administrative obligations. There will need to be coordinated, with a uniform application of these additional reporting requirements internationally to prevent prejudice to businesses operating in different countries.

    “Business should keep a close eye on developments in this area and make representations where appropriate to ensure the practical implementation of new requirements that can be operated efficiently by business.”
