Eversheds comment: Long road ahead for corporate taxation regime change
- United Kingdom
05-09-2013
Commenting as the G20 prepares to sign-off on a revised tax regime for international corporations, Ben Jones, tax expert at global law firm Eversheds, says:
"An agreement from the G20 to proceed with the OECD's plan on corporate taxation will only represent the start of a long and potentially challenging road to implementation. The OECD target a two year period for implementation of their main recommendations but this feels somewhat optimistic. As always, the devil will be in the detail of the proposals and reaching international consensus on issues of taxation, which can have a tangible impact on domestic economic and political interests, has historically been difficult and time consuming."
