Eversheds comment: Twitter's India R&D plans a case of better late than never
- United Kingdom
04-02-2015
Commenting on news that Twitter is to establish a research and development centre in Bangalore, Parmjit Singh, head of the India Group at law firm Eversheds, says:
"Many people's initial reaction to the news will be to question why it has taken so long. The use of mobiles and now smartphones has taken India by storm in the last 10 years, with communicating through social media second nature to tens of millions of young Indians. The country also has some of the smartest and innovative IT engineers and companies, particularly in Banglore. As such, this announcement is a natural progression for Twitter and very much a case of 'better late than never'."
