Practice notes

Gidget is a partner in our Financial services group. She advises financial institutions on a broad range of regulatory matters, such as issues of scope, licensing, passporting, conduct of business rules, capital requirements, governance, fit and proper testing, the regulatory aspects of M&A/finance transactions, as well as on all documentation involved. Gidget has a special interest in Fintechs (including banks, payment services providers, crypto and blockchain companies), alternative financing (crowdfunding, peer-to-peer lending, credit unions) and asset management (including fund managers and funds).

Her recent work concerns:

• advice on a (complex) investment management agreement of a Netherlands based international fund/asset manager,
• advice on setting up an innovative blockchain investment bonds platform (including issuance of tokens),
• assistance and guidance of an international electronic money institution/payment services provider with a license application and several compliance issues, including drafting all documentation,
• advice on and drafting documentation of a new consumer credit product of a lease company and
• advice on setting up and assisting an alternative investment fund to invest in social impact scale ups.

Gidget regularly writes articles, speaks at conferences, gives courses and provides training for clients in relation to a wide variety of financial services regulatory matters. She is a member of the advisory board of the Association for Credit unions in the Netherlands and a member of the Association for Finance companies in the Netherlands.
