Mozahem is a Partner based in the Baghdad office. Mozahem heads the Corporate Commercial team in Iraq. He advises local and international clients on matters in Iraq including regional investment ventures, M&A, general commercial and tax. He has extensive experience in corporate registrations and licensing and has an excellent understanding of corporate structures in Iraq.
His experience includes:
- Representation of IsBank in its daily operational banking activities.
- Advising Weir Solutions on their corporate/commercial matters.
- Advising Baker Hughes on contract enforcement in Iraq.
- Advising a global power generation company in relation to corporate issues in Iraq and Kurdistan a telecommunications operator in Iraq, as issuer, in a convertible bonds transaction with VTel Holdings Ltd worth US$20m.
- Advised a global cement manufacturer on a BOT project in Iraq.
- Advising a UAE based government owned investment company in relation to the development of a mixed use real estate project in Najaf Supporting OPIC, in relation to its finance of a Hotel Project in Baghdad.
- Advising a UK based security company in relation to potential acquisition of Iraqi company, including assets in Kurdistan.
- Acting on behalf of Iraq Middle Market Development Foundation (IMMDF) in relation to their loan disbursements to SME companies in Iraq (including Kurdistan).
- Advising a regional oil and gas company in relation to building of a multi-million US dollars oil services centre in Basra.
Mozahem and his team registered more than 75 fully owned subsidiaries or joint ventures, branches/representative offices for various international clients. Mozahem was educated at Al Mustansirya University in Baghdad and Texas, USA. He is fluent in Arabic and English and a member of the Iraq Bar Association and the International Bar Association.
